Carratu International

Carratu International was set up in 1963 by Vincent Carratu as a corporate investigations company. As such it is the oldest privately owned corporate investigations company in the UK. Since 1963 it has expanded its service base to include employee screening, through its Bad Apple Services, as well as computer forensics. The company is now run by Vincent Carratu’s son, Paul Carratu and based in Cheam, Surrey. Paul Carratu is currently the President of the UK Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners [1]. The company previously traded as The Carratu International Group Limited until August 2001, when it changed it’s name and reclassified as a Plc.

[edit] Business

The company has a general corporate investigations practice, but has a number of key specialisms, including the protection of intellectual property (attacking counterfeiting and piracy and protecting trademarks), an anti-fraud unit, a specialist employee vetting service, Bad Apple Services and a computer forensics unit.

[edit] History

The company has been involved in a number of high-profile matters, including the UK investigation of Claus von Bülow and acting for a number of governments, FTSE 100 companies and celebraties. Unlike a number of other investigation companies, Carratu International do not put their clients names into the public domain and are notoriously discreet about their client's identities.
